Fort Loudoun
Enjoy a day of east Tennessee’s rich history with a trip to Fort Loudoun, a British Fort built in 1756. The Fort has been accurately reconstructed from its original site depicting the time when the Fort was fully active. Sequoyah Birthplace Museum
Located on the banks of the Tellico Lake, nestled in the Great Smoky Mountains you will find Sequoyah Birthplace Museum. Once inside the museum you will be able to enjoy hearing about Cherokee myths and legends. Learn about the Cherokee syllabary, which took twelve years to develop by Sequoyah. Learn about the Overhill Cherokee history as well view artifacts from the Little Tennessee Valley, stop by the gift shop and see the Cherokee Memorial, these are just a few of the wonderful things to experience while visiting the Sequoyah Birthplace Museum.

Lost Sea
The Lost Sea is America’s largest underground lake. The temperature remains a pleasant fifty-eight degrees year round. Wide sloping walkways take you on an adventure to the many interesting rooms, some of which are among the widest, highest, and largest rooms of any caverns in the Southeast. Upon entering the lake room you will board large glass bottom boats for an exciting trip on the Lost Sea. While on the trip you will observe some of the largest rainbow trout in the United States.

Tellico Blockhouse
1794 to 1806, Federal troops garrisoned at the Tellico Blockhouse guarding the northern Cherokee frontier from the encroachment or attack from militia. Learn the history of how the federal government initiated programs among the Cherokee Indians after establishing a trading factory at Tellico. Cherokee National Forest
The Cherokee National Forest is a United States National Forest located in the U.S. states of Tennessee and North Carolina that was created on June 14, 1920. The forest is maintained and managed by the United States Forest Service. It encompasses an estimated area of 655,598 acres

American Museum Of Science and Energy (AMSE)
The present facility, opened in 1975, and continues to provide the general public with energy information. The name of the museum was changed to the American Museum of Science and Energy (AMSE) in 1978.

Cherohala Skyway
A National Scenic Byway Located in Monroe County, Southeast Tennessee. The Cherohala Skyway Welcome Center in Tellico Plains is approximately 19 miles from the Grand Vista Hotel and Suites. The Cherohala Skyway was designed for the traveler to enjoy the natural beauty of the area so please take it slow as the Skyway has only a few passing zones. Tail of the Dragon
Tail of the Dragon at Deal’s Gap is a twisting, curvy, hilly, challenging two lane road visited by motorcyclist, auto clubs, sports cars and anyone else brave enough to take the drive. Those who like a dare will enjoy the 318 curves on the 11 miles of desolate road located in the Smoky Mountains. Grand Vista Hotel and Suites is one of the closest hotels to the Tail of the Dragon – Tennessee side. Kahite Golf

The Links at Kahite and Clubhouse, opened in the fall of 2002, and is a links course with unusual design characteristics. Kahite has scenic views of Tellico Lake and the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. It features the Village’s newest driving range facility and practice putting green. Kahite’s Clubhouse, with its activity center, pool and tennis courts, have proven popular with the owners in Kahite, the Village’s newest neighborhood. There are 93 sand bunkers on the 7,100 yard links style course. The ninth hole is an 808 yard par 6. 18 holes over 7,170 yards with a par of 72 (Private Non-Equity).
Tanasi Golf Course

The Tanasi Golf Course and Clubhouse, opened in 1996, also incorporates the lake into the course design. Holes 1, 17 and 18 play over water, offering some of the most scenic and challenging holes on the course. This Championship course has four sets of tees that play from 6,731 yards to 5,044 yards. Tanasi Clubhouse’s wrap around portico invites you to kick back, relax and take in the spectacular lake and golf course views.
